IFIC Bank holds anti-money laundering compliance conference

IFIC Bank organised a day-long Branch Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (BAMLCO) Conference 2026 at its head office on Saturday to strengthen anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing compliance across its branch network.

The conference aimed to enhance the knowledge, awareness and professional capabilities of branch officials on anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT), according to a press release.

Managing Director Syed Mansur Mustafa inaugurated the conference.

In his opening remarks, he stressed the importance of complying with the directives of Bangladesh Bank and the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. He also called for strengthening risk-based supervision, effective customer due diligence and compliance activities at the bank's branches and sub-branches.

Deputy Managing Director, Chief Information Officer and Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer Md Monitur Rahman attended the programme as special guest.

Chief of Branch Business and Head of Operations Helal Ahmed, Head of Service and Estate Abul Kashem Md Fazlul Kader, Head of Correspondent Banking, Joint Venture Operations and Remittance Department Md Abdullah Al Masum, Deputy CAMLCO and Head of AML and CFT ABM Mohsin Kamal Molla, and other senior officials from the bank's head office also attended the conference.

Branch Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officers from different branches participated in discussions on laws and regulations governing money laundering and terrorist financing, Bangladesh Bank and BFIU directives, identification and reporting of suspicious transactions, risk-based customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring and measures to strengthen AML and CFT compliance at the branch level.

IFIC Bank said regular training programmes, conferences and awareness initiatives would further strengthen its AML and CFT compliance framework while enhancing the capacity of officials to prevent financial crimes.
