A former Ellsworth woman, Jenna Garniss, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Bangor to 61 months in prison for her role in a methamphetamine distribution and money laundering conspiracy.
Garniss, 33, will also serve three years of supervised release after pleading guilty on June 27, 2025. Court records indicate that between 2022 and 2023, co-conspirator Alex Hanna arranged for Codee Houston to ship pounds of methamphetamine from California to Hancock County, Maine, where Garniss and others distributed the drug.
Garniss also wired drug proceeds to Houston at Hanna’s direction, leading to the money laundering charge. Co-conspirators Codee Houston and Alex Hanna were previously sentenced to 14 years and 11½ years in prison, respectively. The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
